What’s The Best Way To Embroider A Baseball Cap With A Home Embroidery Machine, Without Buying A Special Hoop?
O.K., I have a Singer Futura CE-200 that I love, but I have the hardest time embroidering on Baseball caps. I’m sure there is a technique I’m missing here. I’m using Sulky Sticky+ stabilizer, bobbin thread, embroidery thread…
Main issue? Trying to keep the hat in one place without destroying the embroidery. Seems that it gets in the way of the machine as it tries to work.
Please, I need a seasoned veteran at this to give me details.

I have a hoop a cap hoop it all, and although it does a fine job, it does not fit my new machine. I get equally good results with this method, but you need to be very attentive: Flatten the brim as much as possible, and then staple the the inside front band back so that it doesn’t get caught on the cap part. Then flatten and press the cap part down on to the sticky- be sure to center the cap and scan the design to see where it hits.- you may also have to keep your hands on the brim as the hoop moves so that it doesn’t get in the way. I often have to settle on a smaller design than intended- or if the design seems too big, make a patch/applique and glue it on with fabric glue. Hope this helps!
If you don’t want to pay for the hoop, I’m afraid you’ll have to disassemble the hat and baste the front to a bigger piece of fabric so it will fit in one of your hoops. Embroider, then sew the hat back together.http://www.hoopitall.com/hoops/hat_hoop.…
